Mount Vernon Schools Public Foundation
We would like to give a big thank you to our Mount Vernon Schools Foundation for the support of our music programs! They have awarded our department several grants over the years, most recently help $1,000 grant to help our drumline purchase new percussion harnesses. The support we receive from groups like the schools foundation helps our programs thrive and shows our students that music is still important and valued within our community.
The Chairs: The Declare Your Chair fundraiser was a capital campaign organized by the Mount Vernon Public Schools Foundation (MVPSF). Our newly renovated Mount Vernon High School Auditorium features 370 new chairs, plus 12 chairs that are easily removable to accommodate wheelchair seating. The new chairs are constructed of steel, wood, and formed poly cushions.
Inscriptions: Embedded in the armrest of each chair is a 7/8” x 2” metal plate containing the inscription from the chair’s sponsor. Inscriptions include names, family name, the name of a loved one, in memory of..., in honor of..., or the name of your business or organization.
We love our new chairs! Thank you Mount Vernon Public Schools Foundation!

Craft Fair! We NEED YOUR HELP!
We still need more volunteers for the Music Craft Fair on November 19th. This event is one of our major fundraising opportunities (we have already raised over $4,000) and helps cover all kinds of expenses such as uniforms, instruments and instrument repairs, trips, wages for special guests and sound technicians, along with many more things that keep music as a whole thriving here at Mount Vernon High School. We appreciate anyone that is able to help, use the link below to register to be a volunteer.
Event Calendar
There are so many events throughout the year! Pep band, concerts, trips, festivals... the list goes on and on, BUT we have all the events for band, orchestra, choir and mariachi all in one place. Make sure you subscribe to our MVHS Music Calendar.
Donate
MVSD does an incredible job of supporting our music programs. Still, there are needs that fall through the cracks. If you are able, even a small donation goes a long way to making MVHS the best it can be. We hope you will consider donating. Donations can go toward our private lesson scholarships, help with a uniform or apparel item, trip scholarship fund, instrument fund, guest artist, or another area you would like to see improved in our program.
